Miso-Ginger Salmon with Warm Spices
Miso-Ginger Glazed Salmon
This recipe bridges Japanese flavors with warming spices for a sophisticated weeknight dinner. The miso creates a caramelized crust while cinnamon adds unexpected warmth.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 3 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
Whisk miso, mirin, ginger, sesame oil, cinnamon, and white pepper. Coat salmon fillets and marinate 15-30 minutes. Broil on high for 6-8 minutes, 6 inches from element, until the glaze caramelizes and fish flakes easily. Garnish with sesame seeds.
Serving
Serve over steamed rice with quick-pickled cucumber (rice vinegar, sugar, salt). The sweet-salty miso glaze pairs beautifully with the clean rice and tangy pickles.
