Smoked Paprika Shrimp Pasta in 20 Min
Why Smoked Paprika Works Here
Smoked paprika (pimentón) adds a wood-fire depth that makes simple shrimp pasta taste like it came off a charcoal grill. Use the sweet (dulce) variety for balanced flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled
- 8 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
- ½ cup white wine
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper
Method
Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup pasta water before draining.
While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet. Season shrimp with smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook 2 minutes per side until pink. Remove shrimp.
In the same pan, sauté garlic and red pepper flakes 30 seconds. Add wine and lemon juice, reduce 2 minutes. Toss in pasta with a splash of pasta water. Top with shrimp and parsley.
