Smoked Paprika Chicken (Easy 2026)
Smoked Paprika: The Flavor Bomb
Smoked paprika, or pimentón, is made from peppers that are dried and smoked over oak fires. It adds an incredible smoky-sweet dimension to chicken dishes without needing a grill.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
- 2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
Preparation
Mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper with olive oil to form a paste. Rub generously over the chicken thighs, getting under the skin when possible. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Cooking Method
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place chicken skin-side up on a baking sheet. Roast for 35-40 minutes until the skin is crispy and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Squeeze lemon juice over the chicken before serving.
Serving Ideas
Pair with roasted potatoes, a green salad, or crusty bread to soak up the juices. This chicken also works great in tacos, grain bowls, or sliced over pasta.
